Sanjay Patel, MD, is a resident in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Child Study Center at NYU Langone Medical Center. Patel completed his bachelor's degree uggs black friday at the University of Chicago, where he graduated with honors in economics, and he was inducted in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He was also recognized as a student marshal, the University of Chicago's highest academic honor. Dr. Patel received the President's Volunteer Service Award in 2000 for his involvement with a teaching program in Chicago.



After graduating from the University of Chicago, he worked in strategy consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, and he chose to pursue a career in child and adolescent psychiatry. He completed Columbia University's postbaccalaureate premedical program before attending medical school. Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he received the Award for Outstanding Service to Mount Sinai, the Leadership Award, and the Beatrix Hamburg Medical Student Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He completed residency in general adult psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.



Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where he serves on the Adolescent Psychiatry Committee, as well as the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Psychoanalysis and Dynamic Psychiatry.
